As I begin the morning trying to process yet another tragedy this week, I feel overwhelmingly grateful to have the kids back home from Boston safe and in one piece, after they were a mile away from the horrific events on Monday. We were fortunate. So many were not. Prayers going up for the lost and injured souls and all affected, and for the world to hear Martin’s plea loud and clear.
Still, in the midst of this terror, countless individuals came to the aid of others — humanity at its best during evil’s worst. The same is already being reported about the people of West, Texas. Hope, I tell you! Thankfully.
But yes, hug a little tighter.
“And just when you’d think [humans] were more malignant than ever Hell could be, they occasionally showed more grace than Heaven ever dreamed of.”
~Terry Pratchett
“There is a saying in Tibetan, ‘Tragedy should be utilized as a source of strength.’
No matter what sort of difficulties, how painful experience is, if we lose our hope, that’s our real disaster.”
~ Dalai Lama
What a horrible moment for you and your family, but thankfully your kids are safe and sound. Unfortunately, for so many, they were not. We just have to keep praying that this hate that exists can be healed one day!
Was pretty tense, that’s for sure. Praying…and hoping.
I read this on Frances Schultz’ (wonderful) blog post on April 16, regarding Boston and the way people responded, helping, praying, comforting, “We always have a choice to act. It is in believing we do not have choices that we become victims in the energetic sense.” It is by Christel Nani. Times like these we see the truly horrific in the human race, we also see courage, faith, grace and are reminded that no matter how dark it can get, the Light does shine on. Sending hugs, amiga, and absolutely, hug a little tighter.
I’m more than thankful to be home. The shock is still greatly taking over my emotions. But even with the shock, I know that I am blessed to still be here with my family and friends.
Hope is the fuel, Amiga.
