Thankful for that feeling I get when I miss someone. That barometer that gauges the loving, the longing. I so miss my daughter now that she’s living away from us for the very first time; but then again, I miss my son when I don’t see him for a day. I miss my family when I travel, my husband when he’s away on business. I miss my father even though he’s been gone 26 years; and after 17, my sister, every day more and more. I miss those friends I’ve lost to death. And those I’ve lost to life.
At times the missing has been heart-wrenching. But now, in my golden years, never saddening. I am grateful that I’ve been blessed with the people I miss, and with the love I feel when I miss them.
Who do you miss? What are you thankful for?

I miss my fahter and mother. I wish they were here to see the wonderful young men their grandsons have grown up to be
My friend, they see, they see.
Mimi, this is beautiful 🙂 …Miss you!
Thanks Mimi. Miss your smiling face. 🙂
All I can say is ditto times 2 (Eli and Danny). The flip side is that it makes my bonds stronger and stronger with those that are near me day in and day out especially my hubby. It makes me realize that God’s plan for my life is perfect.
Thank you for your posts, I have always identified with them in one way or another.

You and I have similar paths in life, I guess. 🙂
I miss my mother terribly, and it still is very saddening, but am hopeful that it will get a bit better with time…I will forever look forward to the moment I see her again.
And that’s the greatest thing about faith — that hope.
I miss my father and brother everyday more and more… I wish my father was here to see his first great granddaughter and how beautiful she is and my brother, his first great niece…
I miss my family, but I know, in time, we will be together again. In the meantime, I am grateful for having had them in my life, for the life I have now and all those that share in it, for my faith and the hope and certainty it gives me.
