Star Wars has The Force: telekinesis, telepathy, levitation, enhanced reflexes, shooting lightning from fingers, a dark side and a light side. So cool. Big fan. Can’t wait to see the movie, be entertained, and pretend.
We? Ah, we have The Grace: strength, guidance, forgiveness, salvation and eternal life, unconditional. Way cooler. Big believer. Don’t have to wait for the movie, I can live it every day, no pretend. And Lord, I am so thankful!
So to you, in my Yoda voice I say: Truly amazing, the grace of God is. 🙂
Enjoy the show. May the Force and, most of all, the Grace of God, be with you always.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
-Ephesians 2:8
“This grace of God is a very great, strong, mighty and active thing. It does not lie asleep in the soul. Grace hears, leads, drives, draws, changes, works all in man, and lets itself be distinctly felt and experienced. It is hidden, but its works are evident.”
-M. Luther
“It is unearned love–the love that goes before, that greets us on the way. It’s the help you receive when you have no bright ideas left, when you are empty and desperate and have discovered that your best thinking and most charming charm have failed you. Grace is the light or electricity or juice or breeze that takes you from that isolated place and puts you with others who are as startled and embarrassed and eventually grateful as you are to be there.”
-A. Lamott
