For great parents. My siblings and I were blessed with parents who loved us and guided us. Mom and Dad always put us first and sacrificed so much for us. They taught us, among many things, about respect, responsibility, faith, and loyalty. And through example, they gave us a roadmap to this highway called Life.
Dad’s been gone for quite some time, and Mom just joined him. On this Throwback Thankful Thursday, I remember them both. Gracias, Mami y Papi!
Until next Thursday’s post…si Dios quiere.
What are you thankful for today?
“I thank my God every time I remember you.”
-Philippians 3:1
“It is not until much later, as the skin sags and the heart weakens, that children understand; their stories, and all their accomplishments, sit atop the stories of their mothers and fathers, stones upon stones, beneath the waters of their lives.”
–Mitch Albom
“Thank God for good parents who teach their children to live right and pray right and do right and to be kind to others and to forgive their enemies.”
-Anonymous
“If at first you don’t succeed, do it like your mother told you.” -Author Unknown
Beautiful! As with your parents, mine did the same. I miss my dad and think about him every day. I’m thankful I still have my mom who’s daily advice and ear pulling (siempre alandome las orejas) keeps me grounded.
