For spiritual food. Instituted long ago by a great man, while having supper with his friends (and traitor), the Eucharist is our most intimate union with Christ. Today, Holy Thursday, we remember this and the reason He left this mark. Powered by the graces of Holy Communion, we are one. And so for those consecrated little wafers that nourish our spirit and connect our souls to Him, today and always I am thankful.
Wishing those of you who share in my faith, a very blessed Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday. May the Miracle of miracles be with you always.
Until next Thursday’s post…si Dios quiere.
[Note: In case you’re not Spanglish-speaking, “si Dios quiere” means God-willing. Mom finished most of her sentences with that. I added it to my sendoff after her departure].
What are you thankful for today?
“What wonderful majesty! What stupendous condescension! O sublime humility! That the Lord of the whole universe, God and the Son of God, should humble Himself like this under the form of a little bread, for our salvation.”
– St. Francis of Assisi
