Respect above politics.
Can we just vote already?! The political disagreements in this country are so red hot, and the back and forth bickering is so disgusting, that we’ve reached a new level of crazy and disrespect. I find myself having to count to 10 more than I care to, and that says a lot.
We all have friends across the political aisle with whom we do not agree. We don’t have to. That’s the beauty of freedom in this great country. But, we must respect the vote. Ultimately, it’s essential to the preservation of democracy in our country. Not to mention those friendships.
So, people, can we all just vote, and let the chips fall where they may? In God We Trust.
What are you thankful for?
Until next Thursday’s post…si Dios quiere.
“Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good. ‘Tis but one step more to think one vote will do no harm.”
-R.W. Emerson
“Elections belong to the people. It’s their decision. If they decide to turn their back on the fire and burn their behinds, then they will just have to sit on their blisters.”
-Abraham Lincoln
