Thankful Thursdays

We welcome 2025 with heavy hearts as we witness the tragic beginning of this year and the senseless loss of lives.

Yet, even in this moment of sorrow, there is an opportunity for renewal. A chance to reset, reflect, and restart. Welcome to the beginning of a fresh chapter… and a new generation!

If you’re a Baby Boomer like me—young at heart and the last generation that remembers life before Wi-Fi (and the torturous sound of dial-up internet)—get ready to face Generation Beta. These kids will never know a world without the internet, and they’ll probably download their thoughts straight into the cloud before breakfast. Honestly, it feels a bit like watching an alien species land. To their parents, I say: you have my hopes and prayers, and I’ve got emergency chocolate (and maybe some vodka) on standby.  Stay the course!

It’s Day 2 of 2025—a new beginning, no matter how messy or uncertain things may seem. This year holds the potential to offer us new perspectives and opportunities, to let go of what weighs us down, and to make room for the things that truly nurture our hearts and lives. Whatever 2024 brought us, the start of this new year feels like an invitation to take a breath and choose something different.

So, let’s make a promise to ourselves this year: to stay present, to embrace each moment as it comes, and to trust that every twist and turn is part of our unfolding journey. Life, like a GPS, will sometimes take us on the scenic route. We may miss a few turns, hit a few bumps along the way, but it’s all part of the adventure. The detours often bring something unexpected and valuable. So, ¡Dale! Here’s to the journey ahead.
