Today, in this country, we celebrate Independence Day. As I take a moment to reflect on the many freedoms we are fortunate enough to have, I give thanks for all of those who gave their lives so that you and I can enjoy this great land. Although it is not a perfect nation by any means, we do have freedoms and opportunities many people around the world do not have.
I was born in Cuba and lived there under a communist regime. I could write a book about what my family went through. A lot to tell. But, for now, let me just say that I am grateful for the blessings we enjoy as citizens of this great country.
