Thankful Thursdays
Thankful for unanswered prayers. I pray diligently, confidently, faithfully, and sometimes even with cockiness, because I think I know what’s best for me. Fortunately, God’s not down with what I think I know. Nope, instead, His sovereign Will prevails over my own. And I must trust that. As C.S. Lewis said, “If God had granted all the silly prayers I’ve made in my life, where would I be now?” True story….

Thankful that Mom is back home from the hospital. Grateful to all of you for your support and prayers. “God has editing rights over our prayers. He will… edit them, correct them, bring them in line with His will and then hand them back to us to be resubmitted.” ~ Stephen Crotts

For medicine, and those health care professionals who really do recognize and practice the “care” part of it. And for the incredible group I have of family and friends who have been there for us during my Mom’s illness — concerned, caring, and praying. I thank God for you….

Bright Idea – I now carry a copy of Scenes Everlasting in my purse. For when I’m waiting in line, anywhere. Like today, for instance, I pulled into the drive-through at McDonald’s for a LARGE caramel latte. The person ahead of me was perusing the menu as if it held the Secrets of the Universe,…

This is the sort of thing one should take care of the minute one becomes a parent, at least. But who likes to? Stupidly, one tends to think it would be like jinxing life. But, in reality, we take care of these things so our kids don’t have to go crazy later. Well, okay, more like a last ditch attempt at forcing them to do things our way. But let’s not tell them that, okay?
It wasn’t a process we enjoyed, especially …

It’s that time again, and I am excited to start another CCD year. A brand new set of students to teach…ME. I pray the Lord puts His words in my mouth and His patience in my heart. I’m also thankful for the new teachers that He brought our way. Prayers answered. “One day I would…
