Thankful for the memories. “It’s a Small World” turns 50. I’m not gonna lie, the catchy tune drives me nuts now (how many of us haven’t gotten stuck in the ride? The boat stops but the music doesn’t!) As you get older, you either love it or hate it. But I can’t deny that it’s been part of many great memories for me. Just recently, my daughter and I videoselfied our sing-along while on the ride (I’ll spare you from that here). Yes, it was close to midnight, yes, it was part delirium, but, the ride was, once again, part of a memory maker. And today, for that I am thankful….

For a very precise arrangement of events to give me exactly what I needed and when I needed it. Those God-planned, God-sent interruptions… sometimes difficult, other times delightful, always purposeful. I will chose faith over fretting….

For technology — for connecting you and me despite the physical space between us. No, nothing beats in-person interaction, really. But I’ve learned to appreciate the reaching capability of electronic communication, and the possibilities it brings. And although I love to sift through actual photographs, you gotta admit getting those images of loved ones in the time it takes the eye to blink or the heart to beat can be pretty sweet….
