On this first Thankful Thursday of 2014, I am grateful to see the start of a new year, and anticipating all of its potential. Although I don’t know all that this new year holds, I am confident in Him, who knows all things. Friends and family, let’s approach this new year with resolve to find the opportunities hidden in each new day….

Thankful for a year of milestones, adversity, and achievements. Perspective on steroids. My 2013 brought a few big birthdays (50, 21, 18), a huge anniversary (25), a recovery short of miraculous (Mom’s bounce back to health), and…..a little literary dream I had come true — the paperback.
In reflection, do I have much for….

On this Thankful Thursday, I am especially grateful for the sounds, sights, and smells of Christmas.
Bright colors of red and green flicker on a pine tree filled with ornaments new and old, a train (sometimes the monorail) circles the nativity village, scented candles fill the air, carols play to the heart’s content….

For meaningful conversations.
The sad, the laugh-out-loud, the serious, the prayerful, the advice-full, the spiritual, and even the philosophical. I truly appreciate a good convo. I have these. Internally. Quite often…..

For what irritates me…because it makes my need to pray even greater.

On this, the grandest Thankful Thursday of all, I wish you a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving.
I thank the Lord for the wonderful, supportive, and loving people with whom He has surrounded me. Total gratitude here….

For being thought of. Be it a message, a card, a package, a gesture, a call…. In this fast-paced life, it is awesome to know you were thought of. Today I am grateful for those who keep me in mind and reach out to show me.

Thankful for the Gift List. I have a Bucket List, yes, and it’s great to plan and look forward to checking off stuff from it. But today I am most thankful for what’s on my Gift List — the blessings: being a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, a friend, a co-worker; being loved and loving; the faith received, the things achieved, the friends made, the experiences had and the lessons learned — my Gift List.
