“Nunca ha llovido que no haya escampado,” pero wow, I thought that rain yesterday really wasn’t going to stop. Fitting saying for today’s troubles, though. Things will pass, things will get better.
Meanwhile, speaking of troubles. How is that free will working out? It was a gift. It is awesome. But boy, have we made a mess of things with our free will. So why give it to us then? I think C.S. Lewis put it best:
“If a thing is free to be good it’s also free to be bad. And free will is what has made evil possible. Why, then, did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is also the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness or joy worth having.”
This day, this week, this month, this year, this life is what we make of it. Let’s choose wisely.
Grateful for the gift of free will…and every time it stops raining.
What are you thankful for today?
Until next Thursday’s post…si Dios quiere.
“God isn’t about making good things happen to you, or bad things happen to you. He’s all about you making choices–exercising the gift of free will. God wants you to have good things and a good life, but He won’t gift wrap them for you. You have to choose the actions that lead you to that life.”
