Today’s scheduled post was moved to “drafts” for a later date, because yesterday morning while I was praying I felt a nudge which I thought I’d share with you.
I suddenly became aware of how I talk to God in complete and utter believe that He is listening. That was powerful. I mean, most times I go through the motion thinking my words and thoughts fall in deaf ears because the answers don’t come. At least not the ones I expect or want. But, for a moment there, it was like I was the only one in the world and He was all ears.
And then I thought, is there really an alternative state of mind when praying? We gotta pray like we are 100% sure He’s listening or what’s the point. As my late friend Barbie used to say, “Faith. Matters.” Yeah, that’s an understatement.
But how we use prayer also matters. Corrie ten Boom* once asked, “Is prayer your steering wheel, or your spare tire?” I feel about that question today the same way I did years ago when I first read it: Ah ha…(epiphany).
Does prayer control the direction of my life, or do I only use it when all other methods fail? When the going gets tough. Is it our first hope or our last ditched effort? Such a powerful tool and gift prayer is, let’s use it wisely, with 100% confidence He’s all ears.
I dedicate today’s post to some friends, as they navigate a challenging chapter in their lives due to illness. I ask you for healing prayers.
And yes, prayer is my steering wheel, although…Beni occasionally drives. 😉
What are you thankful for today?
Until next Thursday’s post…si Dios quiere.

This was a good “Food for Thought” reminder and quite relevant as I was thinking the same just this past weekend.
This is beautiful. I appreciate you sharing every week with me.
Best!!!
P.S., I often talk to God and its like He’s right next to me. Grateful 🙏
Oh dear Lord, AMEN!
Thank you, Connie.

Mega ditto!! Thanks for the reminder of the power of prayer and for reminding me to pray ALWAYS. Without that we won’t be truly connected to our Lord.
