My gosh, if only “recall” were the antidote for every email we’ve ever sent to the wrong person. 🤦🏻♀️
I love that we can reach someone almost instantly. But let me tell you, it can be nerve-racking when you send a text that lands in the wrong group chat, or send an email with a typo in the “To:” line, or worse, an accidental “reply all” that makes your stomach drop. ¡Qué susto!
In a lighter way, though, those techy misadventures can also be pretty amusing.
I was reminded of a story about a man from chilly Chicago who flew down to sunny Florida for vacation. His wife was supposed to join him the next day, so he sent her a quick email once he got to his hotel. That’s simple, right? Well… one tiny typo in the address changed everything. Instead of reaching his wife, the note went to an elderly woman whose husband had passed away just the day before.
When her family rushed in after hearing her scream, this message was on the screen:
“Dearest wife,
Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
P.S. Sure is hot down here. 😳🔥”
LOL, Yikes! Not exactly the comfort she was expecting. ¡La pobre mujer!
Life, my friends, like emails and texts, can feel fast and furious and full of oops moments. Let’s not skip the proofreading step.
So today, while I’m grateful for technology and the way it keeps us connected, I’m even more grateful for that eerie sense I get to slow down a second before pressing send. Phew! Saved by the Holy Spirit. 😅🙌
What are you thankful for today?
Until next Thursday’s post…si Dios quiere.
